| PWR Performance Products opens its new World Headquarters. |
PWR Performance Product’s new state of the art world headquarters at Ormeau, in Queenslands south east, was officially opened last Saturday. Queensland State Government Minister for transport, trade, employment and industrial relations the honorable John Mickel was on hand to help PWR founders Kees and Paul Weel officially open the new building. Two years in construction, the new PWR Headquarters has placed PWR Performance Products at the top of the world automotive cooling industry.
During the official speeches, Kees Weel took time to share a little of the PWR history recounting how the company, started by Kees and son Paul some ten years ago, has grown from an operation employing three or four into the world leader in automotive cooling.
Minister John Mickel also praised the Weels as a family keen to ensure that PWR has not lost the intimacy of family run organisation while producing a product that competes in the international market at the highest level.
PWR Performance Products new headquarters is a purpose built facility costing in excess of $10 million dollars and is the only one of its kind in the world. As well as having the ability to develop and manufacture the world’s best quality automotive cooling product, it is also an environmentally friendly structure.
The new facility features underground water tanks holding two hundred thousand litres of rain water ensuring PWR does not rely on water from the town supply, an intricate internal guttering system ensuring water used in manufacturing is trapped and then sent through the factory’s water treatment plant before entering the storm water system and an architecturally designed building that maximises natural light and cooling to ease the electrical reliance on air conditioning and lighting.
“ This opening day is really the start of the next phase of the PWR lifecycle and I am excited for the future of the business” said Kees Weel.
